The Best Movies to Watch with a New pair of Headphones

There are many elements that come together to make a movie great. All of them play an important role, and a movie just wouldn’t be the same without them. Most people focus on visuals and how a movie looks on the screen. But you have to remember that audio is just as important, if not more so for certain kinds of films. We don’t notice great audio effects as much as visual special-effects, but the two are intimately connected. One enhances the other and vice versa, and you can get a more comprehensive home experience if you have the right equipment. Thankfully, you don’t have to buy a full home theater in order to experience great sound while you’re sitting on your couch. There are lots of personal listening devices that cost less but give you sound that’s just as good. And when you find that perfect set of wireless headphones for television, here are the top five movies you should plug-in and play right away.

Titanic – if you don’t get a chance to see the recent rerelease of Titanic, then you can watch it at home. With a big screen TV and wireless headphones firmly in place, you’ll experience the adventure of a lifetime. Most people remember the climactic ending with all of the action that goes along with it, but there’s a lot more to this story. Being able to hear the soundtrack and the waves crash against the boat makes you feel like you’re actually there.

Avatar – there’s no denying that James Cameron makes great movies and he knows how to create an atmosphere. Seeing this movie in 3-D is one thing, but watching it at home in full surround sound makes it come to life even more. You’ll actually feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle living the life of an alien race. And if you happen to have a 3-D television as well, watching this film again will be an absolute blast.

The Expendables – this is an all-out action fest without much of the story. But you don’t really need a plot line when you have some of the biggest action stars in the world together for the first time. This is a movie that gets really loud when the action is hot and heavy. So if you want to get blown away with sound effects and explosions, this is definitely a good choice.

Aliens – this movie is over two decades old but it’s just as good as the first time you saw it. And look at that, James Cameron is making another appearance on this list. This movie is scary enough when you watch it under normal conditions, but you’ll take it to a whole new level if you plug-in TV headphones configured to your personal preferences. There are some sequences that will have you jumping out of your seat.

Sin City – this movie has it all and it’s the perfect film to watch on a weekend by yourself. You have character development, a unique style, and exciting action sequences. This is another movie where headphones can make you feel like you’re living inside of it. And since this is a film modeled after a comic book, it’s an entirely different type of experience that no other movie provides. You’ll get lost in the action for two hours as you and get to live inside a real-life comic book.
